Terms of Service
SHEPCO Recovery Individual Plans — Terms and Conditions
1. Subscription
Each SHEPCO Individual Plan subscription is registered to one named individual (the "Subscriber") and one specific vehicle. The subscription cannot be shared, transferred, or assigned to another person or vehicle.
2. Coverage Period
Coverage begins on the date payment is confirmed and is valid for a period of twelve (12) months from that date. Coverage does not automatically renew. The Subscriber must contact SHEPCO to renew their plan before the expiry date.
3. What Is Included
Each subscription includes three (3) callouts per year. A callout may be used for any of the following services, in any combination:
- Towing — any distance within Trinidad
- Battery boost / jump start
- Flat tyre change (spare tyre must be in the vehicle)
4. Additional Callouts
Once the three (3) included callouts have been used, additional callouts are available at a 10% discount off SHEPCO's standard rates and must be paid at the time of service.
5. Vehicle Eligibility
The following conditions apply to the registered vehicle:
- The vehicle must not exceed 4.5 tons in weight
- The vehicle must be legally registered and roadworthy
- Motorcycles are eligible for coverage
- Commercial vehicles used for hire (e.g. taxis, maxi-taxis) are not eligible unless approved in writing by SHEPCO
6. Subscriber Eligibility
The Subscriber must:
- Be at least seventeen (17) years of age
- Hold a valid Trinidad and Tobago driver's permit
- Be the registered owner of the vehicle, or have the registered owner's written consent to subscribe on their behalf
7. Non-Transferable
The subscription is tied to the named Subscriber and the registered vehicle only. Callouts cannot be used for any other person's vehicle. If the Subscriber sells or disposes of the vehicle, the remaining callouts are forfeited unless SHEPCO approves a vehicle change in writing.
8. No Carryover
Unused callouts do not carry over to the next subscription period. At the end of the twelve (12) month coverage period, any remaining callouts expire.
9. Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of subscription. Accepted payment methods are cash and bank transfer. Payment is non-refundable once the subscription has been activated.
10. Service Area
Coverage is valid within Trinidad only. SHEPCO does not provide services in Tobago at this time.
11. Cancellation by SHEPCO
SHEPCO reserves the right to cancel a subscription and refuse service if:
- The Subscriber provides false or misleading information
- The service is being used fraudulently or abusively
- The vehicle is found to be unroadworthy or illegally modified
- The Subscriber behaves in a threatening or abusive manner toward SHEPCO staff
In the event of cancellation by SHEPCO, no refund will be issued.
12. Limitation of Liability
SHEPCO will make every reasonable effort to respond to callouts in a timely manner. However, SHEPCO is not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road conditions, or circumstances beyond our control. SHEPCO's total liability under this subscription is limited to the subscription fee paid by the Subscriber.
